Pedrosa and Marquez take to the track in Valencia

On the second day of the 2013 pre-season test in Valencia, Repsol Honda riders Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez were finally able to complete some laps of the Ricardo Tormo track. The main use of this test was for Dani to have his first taste of the 2013 bike and for Marc to begin his learning curve on the bigger 1000cc prototype machine.

It has been a frustrating few days in Valencia, especially for Moto2 champion Marc Marquez, who has been waiting patiently for his first experience on the Honda MotoGP bike. Bad weather prevented any track action yesterday but today at around 15h00, Dani went out on track on slick tyres to see if it was drying up at all. After recording a 1'34.911 on his first run, Dani proved the track had a reasonable grip level and Marc followed him out on track at 15h30. Dani tested the new 2013 machine and completed 30 laps recording the fastest time of the day, 1'32.322, two tenths quicker than the circuit lap record (1'32.582).

Rain stops play on Day 1 in Valencia

The temperamental weather which affected last week's Grand Prix in Valencia, has once again disrupted proceedings in the first day of testing in Valencia.

There was a lot of anticipation for the first day of testing for the 2013 season, as the Repsol Honda Team welcome their new rider, Moto2 champion, Marc Marquez. However, with rain arriving in the morning, neither Marc or Dani Pedrosa took to the track.

Weather permitting, testing will continue at the Ricardo Tormo circuit tomorrow.DANI PEDROSA"Unfortunately the weather has been pretty bad all weekend and continued today. Let's hope it will brighten up tomorrow and at least stay dry so that we can test the new 2013 prototype machine".MARC MÁRQUEZ"I have this fantastic bike here but unfortunately the weather isn't very good! It's better to be patient and wait as it's important to test the bike in the best conditions possible. I spent some time with the team this morning and I learnt m…

Dramatic season finale as Pedrosa wins with Stoner in 3rd

The 2012 MotoGP World Championship came to an exciting climax today with a fantastic display from the Repsol Honda Team. Dani Pedrosa took victory in the Grand Prix of La Comunidad Valenciana (his sixth at this track) and finishes the season runner-up to champion Jorge Lorenzo by just 18 points but with the most victories of the championship, with a total of seven. 2011 World Champion Casey Stoner completed the final GP of his career and took third place, his tenth podium of the year.

It was one of the most dramatic races of the season. Tricky weather conditions caused confusion at the start with only two riders - Lorenzo and Bradl -starting with slicks tyres on the grid. After the sighting lap, several riders chose to change to slick tyre bikes and start from the pit lane, including Dani who lost his advantage of being on pole position.

With the asphalt drying up very quickly, Dani managed to catch race leader Lorenzo within 12 laps, just before the Yamaha rider crashed…

Sensational pole position record for Dani, and front row start for Casey in Valencia GP

The Grand Prix of la Comunidad Valenciana will see Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa starting in pole position and Casey Stoner from third in a highly anticipated season finale.

Dani Pedrosa, the only rider who has won at Valencia in all three classes, set a new pole record on his last flying lap (1'30.844) beating Valentino Rossi's old record by 0.158 seconds (1'31.002) which Rossi recorded using qualifying tyres in 2006. Dani took his fifth pole of the season, while Casey Stoner joins him on the front row of the grid for the tenth race this year after setting a fast lap of 1'31.428.

It was a very busy qualifying session for the Repsol Honda Team, the only dry session so far this weekend, and Dani and Casey worked hard to find the best setup and test the new asphalt. Tyre choice will be key if the race is dry tomorrow, but at the moment the weather forecast still remains uncertain.DANI PEDROSA1st1'30.844"It was almost a perfect lap and I gave 100% …

Final GP of 2012 kicks off in Valencia

The last round of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship has had a slow start for the riders and fans at Valencia's Ricardo Tormo circuit.

It was the first chance for the riders to test the new asphalt here, but unfortunately the variable weather has affected the first day of free practice of the GP of La Comunidad Valenciana. With rain in the morning session, the Repsol Honda riders only managed a handful of laps - Dani Pedrosa was second fastest with a top time of 1'45.490 and completed 17 laps. Teammate Casey Stoner, still wary of his ankle injury, completed just 14 laps with a fastest lap time of 1'47.527 and finished 10th.

In the afternoon's FP2 session with mixed conditions, Casey chose not to take to the track. Dani, completed an out lap, but returned to the pit box deciding nothing could be learnt.DANI PEDROSA16th1'45.490"We didn't have so much time on track today. We had our first experience on the new asphalt in the wet and it seems like…

Repsol Honda Team head to Valencia for final round of 2012

The 2012 MotoGP World Championship comes to a conclusion this weekend in Valencia for the last round of the season, with the Repsol Honda Team hoping to finish the championship on a high.

The final rider's championship positions were decided in Australia, with Dani Pedrosa in second and Casey Stoner third, but the Grand Prix of La Comunidad Valenciana is more than just the final race for them both. Dani will want to finish his best season in MotoGP to date (6 wins and 14 podiums) by adding another victory to his tremendous performances in the second half of the season. After dominating in Phillip Island two weeks ago, Casey is almost back to 100% and will want to close his successful career by winning his final race.

The Repsol Honda riders have enjoyed good results at Valencia, with Dani winning 5 times at this circuit including two premiership class victories in 2009 and 2007. For Casey, this is the setting of his first every GP victory in 2003 in 125cc, he has als…
