Pedrosa celebrates his birthday with a race win in Aragón, Rea finishes 7th

In an intense battle between the two Championship contenders, it was Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa who emerged as victor, for the fourth time this season. His team mate, Jonathan Rea, took an impressive 7th in just his second MotoGP outing.

After an early crash in yesterday's qualifying session, Dani's team had to completely rebuild the bike to prepare for today's 23 lap race and the dominant victory was the best present for himself and his crew on his birthday weekend.

Starting from second on the grid, Dani took the lead on the seventh lap, after setting the fastest lap of the race on lap 3 (1'49.109) and running consistently in 1'49's he pulled away from Lorenzo until crossing the finish line with more than a 6 second gap. Pedrosa is now 33 points behind Lorenzo in the World Championship standings with 4 rounds remaining.

Jonathan Rea completed his second strong race for the Repsol Honda Team. The British rider, who is replacing injured Casey…

Dani second as tricky weather conditions continue to plague MotoGP in Aragón

The Repsol Honda Team went back on track today for the first day of free practice for the Aragón Grand Prix, with Dani Pedrosa setting the second fastest time in the combined classification and Jonathan Rea placed in eleventh position.

In the morning, the first free practice saw a repetition of the conditions in Misano with bad weather marking the start of the fourteenth round at Motorland Aragón. After a 1 hour delay to the session, caused by oil on track from the previous Moto3 session, Dani did not complete any flying laps and Jonathan failed to go out at all, deciding nothing could be learnt from the 50/50 track conditions.

Dani, the quickest bike on track with a top speed of 330.5, was just 0.066 off the fastest time in FP2 this afternoon with cold temperatures and full wet conditions, while the British rider finished 11th, 3.8 seconds behind Ben Spies.DANI PEDROSA2nd 2'00.285"At least we had a full wet session this afternoon to work with the bike and I fe…

Repsol Honda Team return to Spain for Aragon GP

The Repsol Honda Team travels to Alcañiz this weekend in preparation for the fourteenth round of the season and the third visit of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship to Spain.

Motorland Aragón welcomes the MotoGP family for the third consecutive year and has been a successful venue for the Repsol Honda Team in the past, with both Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa topping the podium in 2010 and 2011, two victories for the Australian rider and two second places for the Spaniard.

Dani Pedrosa, who will celebrate his 27th birthday on Saturday, arrives confident and ready to put the issues he had Misano behind him - the first race this season without points due to an incident on the first lap. Dani, currently second in the standings 38 points off Jorge Lorenzo, is in great form and the results of the test held at Aragón at the beginning of this month will give him high motivation. Dani set the fastest overall time in the two day test, with a best lap of 1'47.983, improving the current circ…

New carbon fibre side trims

I decided to replace my side trims with a set of matt dry carbon from zero limits. They are well made, thin and weigh next to nothing!

Bad luck for Pedrosa, confident 8th place for Rea in Misano

The Repsol Honda team endured a bizarre race in the San Marino Grand Prix this afternoon, with Dani Pedrosa being taken out on the first lap.

A last minute yellow flag displayed due to issues with Karel Abraham's bike, created confusion on the grid as teams regrouped to prepare for a restart. When Dani's crew went to remove his front tyre warmer the wheel was locked, causing delay for the Spanish rider. The brake issue was resolved only after the permitted time and for this reason Dani had to start from the back of the grid.

Title contender Dani had a strong start from 21st and had climbed to 8th position in few corners, when Hector Barberá crashed in turn 6 and unfortunately wiped out his fellow countryman.

Dani's Repsol Honda team-mate Jonathan Rea avoided any such drama and found himself in clear space for much of the race. Jonathan, taking part in his first MotoGP race, took this opportunity to progress his already rapid learning curve on the Honda RC21…

Important pole for Pedrosa and 3rd row for Rea in San Marino Qualifying

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa scored his 4th pole of 2012 in a hectic Qualifying session for tomorrow's San Marino Grand Prix. The last time Dani took the pole position in Misano was in 2010, when he completed a perfect weekend: pole, circuit record and victory. He is now the most successful Spanish rider of all time in pole positions in the premier class with 23, and equals Max Biaggi in sixth position overall.

Dani squeezed out Jorge Lorenzo by 0.018s to steal pole on his final flying lap of the 60 minute session, during which both sides of the Repsol Honda garage worked non-stop to make up for lost time caused by bad weather yesterday and in this morning's FP3.

Dani's team-mate, Jonathan Rea, taking part in his first MotoGP race weekend, progressed throughout the session and will start from 9th position alongside Ben Spies and Andrea Dovizioso.

In tomorrow's 28 lap race, Dani will be looking for his 3rd consecutive win and to close the gap to Jorge …

Repsol Honda Team heads to 'Marco Simoncelli Circuit'

This week the Repsol Honda Team heads to Misano for the thirteenth round of the 2012 World Championship and the second visit of the season to Italy.

The Misano World Circuit has been recently renamed as the 'Marco Simoncelli Circuit' in honour of the much loved Italian rider who passed away in the Malaysian GP last year. The event promoters have worked tirelessly to ensure that this weekend's Grand Prix will be a great celebration in memory of their beloved countryman.

After his two successive and impressive wins in Indianapolis and Brno, Dani Pedrosa arrives in Misano confident and aiming to continue his great momentum at a track where he's been on the podium the last three years in a row, with a victory included in 2010. Alongside Dani for the first time in a Grand Prix weekend is British rider Jonathan Rea, who will combine MotoGP and Superbike World Championships whilst replacing Casey Stoner - currently recovering in Australia after successful surg…

Repsol Honda Team conclude Aragon Test

The Repsol Honda Team completed another busy day of testing at Motorland Aragon today. Dani Pedrosa covered 238,6 kilometres, 47 laps, with a best lap time of 1'48.499. Jonathan Rea did 314,8 kilometres - a total of 62 laps and recorded a fastest lap of 1'50.057.

Today Dani, who set the fastest time of the test with 1'47.983 yesterday, tried a new exhaust looking to improve the power delivery of the engine on his RC213V and he also tested a modified rear shock to increase grip.

Jonathan, who will head to Germany tonight for the WSBK Championship this weekend in Nurburgring, took another step on the MotoGP machine working to improve his feeling with the RC213V and the Bridgestone tires.

The Repsol Honda Team hope to take advantage of the results from this test for the last 6 last races of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship. Dani will arrive in Misano next week in good form and second in the Championship, 13 points off the leader, and Jonathan will make his debu…
